Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Sales Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in representing a technology revolution in space. In this position, you’ll work closely with razor-sharp colleagues in Commercial, Product Management, Sales, and Service Management contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. What You’ll Do:
- As a Senior Sales Engineer at Eutelsat, you will play a key role in our business growth.
- This role serves as the technical counterpart to the sales team, helping customers understand how our solutions meet their needs—from initial presentations through deployment planning.
- The ideal candidate will be hands-on, adaptable, and comfortable navigating both technical and business conversations in a fast-paced startup environment.
- You will ask probing questions to better understand the customer’s business needs and match them with a compelling service solution from Eutelsat’s OneWeb LEO & GEO product service catalogs.
- You will use your engineering knowledge in Satellite, VSAT/UT, and IP Communications to ensure that our distribution partners provide the best possible solutions for their customers.
- This role is instrumental in growing revenue – partnering with sales, product, and commercial teams as we drive the growth of our business.
- Your role will include in-depth customer technical support, leading technical trials, influencing market requirements, and driving sales.
What You’ll Need:
- Technical pre-sales support in promoting Eutelsat’s products to our customers (Distribution Partners and telcos) in the Americas region.
- Liaise with key target customers to influence the early stages of the sales cycle, qualify the opportunities and shape product and service offerings
- Use extensive technical knowledge and analytical skills to address customer questions around capability, system performance, network integration, and competitive positioning etc.
- Deep understanding of Satellite concepts, Ground Networks, IP Routing, Layer 3 CoS markings, and QoS queue behaviors to explain and solution complex end-user Use Cases.
- Feed your continued passion for comprehending and adapting to this technology and become a thought leader and trusted consultant to their customer base.
- Drive the capabilities of the Eutelsat LEO & GEO global networks to prospective customers
- Provide field feedback to improve products and go-to-market strategies
- Define and oversee customer trials - including developing demonstrations of common customer use cases. This should include adaptive troubleshooting and creative thinking.
- Continually interface with end-users to educate them about the key aspects of Eutelsat’s products and services
- Provide field feedback to improve products and go-to-market strategies
What It Takes:
- Proven experience in providing robust technical advice and solutions to customers in Americas region
- Understanding of the Satellite and System Integrator customer base, Telco/Carrier challenges, and any previous experience working with the telco or MNO industries would be an advantage
- Very good knowledge of end-to-end Satellites, Data Networking Solutions, Traffic Management, QoS and Network Security
- Knowledge of IP Network Routing and Satellite networks
- Strong communication skills: ability to articulate technical material to both a technical and non-technical audience verbally and as a technical author
- Commercially astute; strong negotiation skills, and a proven ability to influence customer interactions and requirements in line with wider divisional/corporate goals
- Be a creative thinker and solution focused
What We’d Love:
- BSc/BEng in a relevant technical degree or equivalent (Electrical/Electronic Engineering/ Telecommunications/Computer Sciences)
- Technical understanding of existing conventional VSAT systems, MilSatcom systems, and other GEO, MEO, & LEO systems supporting Satellite Services for comparison and competitive positioning purposes
- Strong understanding of gateways, networking, LTE/5G connectivity, and service platforms
- Extensive knowledge of Satcom User Terminal Equipment used in Mobile and fixed installations for different service use cases
- Working knowledge of IP Networking and Class of Service (CoS) using DSCP for Voice, Assured Forwarding, and Best Effort traffic engineering
- Technical comprehension of different QoS queue behaviors along with Pros/Cons of different mechanisms for queue management.
- Familiarity with 3GPP/LTE systems knowledge
- Willing to travel locally and internationally, with cultural awareness, and the ability to build regional market knowledge and intelligence
