Job Overview

We are seeking a forward-thinking and technically skilled Team Lead for the Tooling, Architecture & Development team. This leadership role sits within the End-to-End Systems Engineering organization and is pivotal in shaping development of robust, scalable, and user-friendly tools that leverage our in-house system models and simulators. You will lead a team of engineers responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining internal tools and platforms which are critical enablers for engineering, operations, and commercial teams across the company. The role requires close collaboration with systems architecture, software engineering, operations, and commercial teams to ensure our simulation capabilities align with business and engineering goals.

 

Who You Are:

You are a systems-oriented engineer with a proven track record in leading teams and delivering complex modelling and simulation projects, ideally in the satellite or terrestrial communications industry. You combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and communication skills. You are passionate about mentoring others, driving innovation, and fostering a collaborative team environment. You’re sparked by a fast pace, with new challenges, and the opportunity to learn/invent new techniques. You possess superb communications skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries. 

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead a small team of systems modelling engineers focused on the architecture, development, and deployment of internal tools based on our in-house system models and simulators.
  • Define the technical roadmap and architecture for tooling platforms that support engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Ensure tools are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather requirements and ensure tools meet user needs.
  • Oversee software development practices, including version control, testing, documentation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor and support team members in their technical and professional growth.
  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to improve workflows and decision-making through automation and advanced modelling.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in systems modelling and simulation, with experience in a leadership or team lead role.
  • Experience building internal tools or platforms that interface with complex system models or simulators.
  • Experience writing requirements for software/tool development.
  • Experience developing software collaboratively as part of a team, and the associated software development techniques and best practices.
  • Strong programming skills in JULIA or Python; familiarity with MATLAB, C++, SQL is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of RF communications and satellite system CONOPS (LEO/MEO/GEO).
  • Knowledge of 3GPP standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.

Our team is currently based out of three different locations, any of these are potential options:

  • Turin, Italy.
  • Paris, France.
  • London, UK.

Some travel required.
