Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Junior Engineer Intern to join our system-team in Turin, Italy. This project-focused internship is designed to immerse you in the management and optimization of our on-premise applications and services. You will collaborate closely with operations, architecture, and security teams to enhance system performance, automate deployment processes, and ensure robust security across our production environments, directly contributing to core business objectives.

 

Who You Are:
You are an innovative pioneer with a strong passion for technology, particularly the Linux OS. You possess entry-level experience or foundational knowledge in scripting, automation, and/or DevOps methodologies. An understanding of networking and security theory is essential. You thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments, enjoy tackling complex problems, and are eager to leverage emerging technologies to build efficient and scalable systems.

 

What You’ll do:


1. Monitoring, Analytics, and Data Engineering

  • Data Visualization & Operational Dashboards: Design and implement intuitive dashboards for real-time operational insights.
  • Proactive Alerting & AI-Driven Profiling: Develop advanced alerting mechanisms and internal triggers, exploring AI/ML concepts to profile system behavior for anomaly detection.
  • ETL & Queue System Optimization: Assist in optimizing our Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines and message queue systems for maximum efficiency and throughput.
  • Legal Log & Speedtest Infrastructure: assist in the monitoring of infrastructure supporting legal logging and network performance (speedtest) data collection.
  • Database Performance: Contribute to monitoring and initial optimization efforts for critical database performance.


2. Infrastructure Automation & Asset Management

  • Certificate Lifecycle Management: Support the automation and streamlined management of the system certificate lifecycle.
  • CMDB & Inventory Data Integration: Help integrate and maintain data accuracy within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) and IT inventory systems.
  • Corporate DNS Asset Management: Assist in the secure and compliant management of corporate DNS assets, including security integration initiatives.


3. Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Documentation

  • ISO 27001 Compliance Testing: Participate in testing and documenting controls to ensure adherence to ISO 27001 standards.
  • Technical Documentation & Standardization: Create and update high-quality technical documentation and standardize operational procedures.

 

What You’ll Need:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
  • Minimal theoretical and/or practical knowledge of Linux OS and basic systems administration concepts.
  • Basic knowledge of scripting languages, such as Python and Bash.
  • Foundational understanding of networking and security theory (e.g., TCP/IP, basic firewall concepts, security best practices).
