Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Accounting Manager (Italy) to join our team and play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, statutory compliance, and high-quality accounting operations within a multinational group environment. In this position, you’ll work closely with Group Finance in France, Controlling, Purchasing, HR, and external advisors, contributing directly to the integrity of our financial statements and continuous improvement of our accounting processes. Who You Are:
You are a hands-on accounting leader with strong technical expertise in IFRS and Italian GAAP. You have solid experience in a multinational or group-reporting environment and are comfortable managing month-end close, audits, and statutory requirements.
You combine analytical rigor with a proactive mindset, ensuring issues are identified and resolved early. You are structured, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively. You build strong relationships across functions and communicate clearly with both internal and external stakeholders.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the monthly close process, owning the close timetable and ensuring timely and accurate completion of all activities.
- Prepare and submit IFRS reporting in OneStream to the Group in France.
- Perform analytical reviews of the balance sheet, explaining variances and proactively identifying risks or inconsistencies.
- Oversee local statutory accounting, coordinating with PwC on tax matters, compliance, and statutory adjustments.
- Manage the annual audit and financial statement process with external auditors and PwC.
- Improve SAP accounting processes, data flows, and overall system efficiency.
- Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and enhance the overall quality and reliability of financial data.
- Work closely with Purchasing, Controlling, HR, and other internal teams to ensure accurate accounting of operations, costs, and capex.
- Oversee intercompany activities, cashflow coordination, and accounting master data governance.
- Ensure strong internal controls and adherence to Group policies.
- Handle ad hoc requests from internal and external stakeholders.
- Support and develop the local accounting team, fostering collaboration and continuous process improvement.
What You’ll Need:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, Chartered Accountant, or equivalent) preferred.
- Proven experience in an accounting leadership role within a multinational or group-reporting environment.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and local Italian GAAP.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and analytical review.
- Solid understanding of SAP (or similar ERP systems) with a strong system and process-oriented mindset.
- Experience managing audits and working with external advisors.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
