Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Satellite Telecom and RF Engineer to join our team, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.
Who You Are:
The Satellite Telecom and RF Engineer mainly deals with definition, test and verification of advanced ground architectures applicable to User Terminal segment enabling consistent satellite transmissions (mainly GEO then progressively target LEO/GEO).
What You’ll Do:
Within the “Ground Antenna and User Terminal” team you will contribute to different sectors of activity
· Responsible for validation of Earth Stations and User Terminals based on the existing procedures, using necessary instruments and reading/postprocessing/analyzing data provided by the reference laboratories or directly recorded withing a local test bench.
· Contribution to specification of satcom services for the User Terminal segment based on outcomes of functional tests (run on UT prototype or pre-series).
· Support to RF characterization and on-field functional tests of User Terminals and their subsystems.
· Define and redact technical specifications and requirements both at system and RF level in the aim of maximizing performance of new generation User Terminals.
· Participate to the procurement of new User Terminals, with technical specifications and requirements (see above), as well as the preparation and evaluation of calls for tenders
· Support for standardization activities and management of Earth Stations/ User Terminals supposed to operate on the Eutelsat Oneweb fleet
The Satellite Telecom and RF Engineer as a key role in carrying out the following activities for the Earth Station and User Terminal validation:
User Terminal validation:
· Define and organize integration of User Terminal subsystem, setup test bench (possibly in controlled manner)
· Define and roll out a test plan, post-processing and analysis of recorded results
· In more complex setup usage of more advanced tools can be introduced in the test setup (hexapod, drive test, logging tools
What You’ll Need:
· Master degree or equivalent in Telecommunications
· In-depth knowledge of English and French
· +5 years of experience in satellite telecommunication
The skills below are considered a plus:
• Experience with mobile User Terminals relying on OpenAMIP protocol making interaction between Satellite Modem and Antenna possible via Antenna Controller Unit.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge of digital signal processing technics
• Ability to simulate RF systems (waveguides, horn, phased array, etc.), using common tools (Matlab, HFSS, CST)
