Main purpose of job


The Broadband Service Engineer provides a single entry point in the Department of Service Operations of Eutelsat to all business needs leading to the creation, modification or evolution of services or service features in the area of wholesale IP-based connectivity solutions.

To achieve this, she/he will work closely to all engineering and operational functions of the Technical Department of Eutelsat, providing coordination and support to assure that business objectives on the assigned activities are met consistently against internal and external customer requirements, and Company policies.


Main responsibilities


  • Develop a good understanding of the trends on the customers technological needs as presented through Eutelsat business lines.
  • Develop, present, and respond to proposals for specific customer requirements in support to Pre-Sales or Product Management teams, securing most-appropriate technical solutions.
  • Provide feasibility studies aimed at identifying solutions for new uses cases, in collaboration with engineering, and development teams.
  • Coordinate projects or programs in the above areas within the technical domain.
  • Contribute to the maintenance up to date of the technical service catalogue for all IP based services
  • providing technical assistance and product education to other teams if required
  • support with “User” role, the Company Information Security Management processes


Must have requirements


  • At least 5 years of working experience in a similar role;
  • Ability in handling concurrent short- and long-term activities in a frequently changing context.
  • Ability of understanding and assessing business objectives, translating them into functional and technical requirements.
  • Experience of B2B wholesale satellite solutions, and, specifically in the areas of backhauling, mobility services, and governmental applications
  • Proven ability to effectively communicate to Customers in English, whereas English and Italian remain the internal working languages.
  • Availability to travel (up to 30%) of time, if required;
  • Knowledge of the major Satellite IP communications platforms; familiarity with terrestrial networking fundamentals (e.g, P addressing, tunnelling solutions, BGP,..), Teleport architectures, OSS systems, VSAT components, and satellite link budgeting principles; 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, or Networking Engineering, or similar
