System Administrator & Automation/DevOps Enthusiast

We are looking for people passioned for the new technologies and interested in working with a strong focus on DevOps, Automation and System optimization.

Responsibilities

Having a constant focus on Automation, DevOps and new technologies, the Senior System Administrator & DevOps Enthusiast will be responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of system administration for complex operating systems. Recommends the redesign and configuration of operating systems and system applications. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system requirements and develops system specifications. Identifies methods, solutions, and provides project leadership and management in order to provide a high level of service to the customers of the department. Performs support to Operations staff.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manages the day-to-day operations on the server farm environment by monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance and repair. Applies revisions to host system firmware and software. Works with vendors to assist support activities.
  • Develops new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability. Trains technical staff in how to use new software and hardware developed and/or acquired
  • Performs troubleshooting as required.
  • Identify guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the systems, disk arrays, fiber channel switches, tape libraries and other components in datacenter
  • Ensures high availability and acceptable levels of performance for mission critical resources
  • Support security team to protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse.
  • Develops procedures, programs and documentation for backup and restoration of host operating systems and host-based applications
  • ISMS User Key Activities:
  • Is requested to abide by the security policies and procedures in force for her / his operational role
  • Is requested to report to the ISMS Manager of all observed security issues

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • More than 7 years work experience in complex systems design, deploy and operation support
  • Plan, organize and document complex system design activities and to configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
  • Operating Systems: Centos, Redhat Enterprise Linux
  • Virtualization/Container (ex. VMWARE esxi/vsphere, Linux KVM, Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)
  • Automation tools (ex. Ansible, jenkins, saltslack, puppet)
  • Protocols: DNS, RADIUS, DHCP, LDAP, HTTP, HTTPS, TCP, UDP. Standard stack OSI concept.
  • Databases : Oracle, Mysql
  • Version Control Systems: Git
  • LAMP Programming Languages: Python, Perl, shell scripting
  • Knowledge of the Security concepts: Cyphersuite, Hash, Certificate, Certificate Authority, DNSSEC, Authentication vs Authorization, DDOS, MITM, Breach, Exploit, IDS, IPS ;
  • Excellent written and oral skills in English
  • Ability to perform well in diverse settings and cultures
