Radiofrequency Engineer

Integrated in the Radiofrequency Team (RF Team), we are looking for a Radiofrequency Engineer to join the us in our Teleport based in Cagliari (Sardaigna/Italy).
The RF Team is in charge of all aspects related to design, deployment and exploitation of RF assets infrastructure and systems. We are in charge to deliver broadband and broadcast commercial services, to support In Orbit Test (IOT) facilities, Telemetry Tracking and Command (TTC) stations and Payload Monitoring stations and systems.
The team is responsible of 300 transmit and receive antennae directly under the control of Eutelsat. Our antenna park is distributed across our 4 owned teleports (Turin, Cagliari, Madeira and Rambouillet) and over 20 other teleports distributed around the world. We are in charge of uplink and downlink linked to broadcast activities (mainly video transmissions) and we operate a continuous growing network of earth stations dedicated to broadband activities (7 today, 15 by the end of the year, 18 early next year, etc…)
The RF team is distribute over 3 sites and composed of several nationality, we built a team of motivate people to support key challenges for next satellite communications, because without antennae nothing is possible!


Tasks and Responsibilities
• Lead activity to maintain in operation Cagliari antennae park :
  o For Eutelsat broadcast activities
  o TT&C activities
  o Hosted customer earth/stations activities
• Be guarant of key operational aspect like :
  o Maintain up to date the RF monitoring solution
  o Define with the first level NOC all working instruction and potential automation
  o Follow technical issue with suppliers
  o Support customer requests
• Take part or follow activity to maintain in operation these infrastructures:
  o Konnect Gateway sites (6 stations distributed over Europe)
  o KVHTS Gateway sites (8 stations distributed over Europe)
  o E10B Gateway sites (3 stations distributed over Europe)
  o E65WA Gateway (1 station over Latin America)
  o Payload Monitoring sites (22 sites distributed over the world)
• Lead investigation of technical issues or problems (2nd and 3rd level support)
• Follow and implement new infrastructure, sub systems and components drive by customer request, new satellite payloads requirements or introduce by our continuous improvement cycle process.


Required Skills and Experience
• University degree (Bac +5) in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
• This position is open to experienced engineers.
• A strong motivation for operational topics is essential (Problem solver!)
• Microwave / high frequency RF engineering
• Understanding of RF Systems, Antenna Systems and Satellite Communication Systems
• Good understanding of RF communication signal design techniques (e.g. modulation, encoding, filtering)
