Advanced Analytics & Data Science Specialist

The Advanced Analytics Specialist is in charge of applying data mining techniques, doing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems based on our services insights. Building, optimizing and maintaining conceptual and logical models are crucial in his/her every day activity.

 

Responsibilities

  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
  • Doing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner and challenging time windows
  • Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

 

Requirements

For this role, it is required to understand and master machine learning techniques and algorithms in order to understand requirements, elaborate and implement solutions designed to give more value to our data estate. Hands-on experience with SQL and common data science toolkits is also required (R, Weka, NumPy…)

Ideally, the candidate is familiar with predictive analysis and data visualization techniques using relevant tools such as Tableau and R data visualization frameworks.

Ultimately, it is required to be comfort relating with any international technical and non-technical department equally in order to facilitate requirements collection and improve deployment activities.

 

More specifically:

  • At least 3 years of experience in the role
  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, such as R, Weka, NumPy, MatLab, etc... Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable
  • Great communication skills
  • Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive
  • Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.
  • Scripting and programming skills are preferred
  • Data-oriented personality
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Very good level of English
