Job Overview:

The Director of SNP Operations will lead the strategic and operational management of Eutelsat’s worldwide Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite ground network. This role oversees regional managers and field engineering teams, drives site expansion and new site build as well as continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with corporate objectives for service delivery and customer experience.

Key responsibilities include gateway site design, Earth Station equipment operations, and maintenance. Knowledge of site delivery, RF operations, project management, vendor management, regulatory licensing, compliance is essential. The position guarantees the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance across all SNP sites globally. Additionally, you will support OneWeb’s ground segment training program to ensure partners, vendors, and contractors remain up to date with best practices.

The role interfaces with the LEO Ground Network Operations Center (GNOC), Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Legal/Regulatory, and Finance teams.

 

What You'll Do:

Global Operational Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end operations strategy for OneWeb’s global SNP network, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Lead and mentor regional SNP managers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Manage SNP implementation and vendor SLA compliance.
  • Drive site expansion upon request, upgrades, documentation, and configuration management.

Service Level & KPI Governance

  • Define, monitor, and enforce global SLA and KPI frameworks.
  • Implement reporting mechanisms to track performance, availability, and compliance.
  • Drive corrective actions and continuous improvement based on KPI trends.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and manage warranty, asset, and equipment lifecycle programs.

Quality & Compliance Oversight

  • Establish global standards for SNP maintenance, security, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal quality benchmarks.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Oversee global vendor performance and training.
  • Collaborate with GNOC, Systems Engineering, Legal/Regulatory, and other teams to resolve escalations and optimize service delivery.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage global SNP operational budgets, including forecasting and cost optimization.
  • Align resource allocation with strategic priorities.
  • Develop sparing strategies and replenishment programs.

Risk & Incident Management

  • Lead global incident response and change management processes for the scope
  • Ensure resilience and continuity plans for critical SNP infrastructure.

What You'll Need:

  • 12+ years of experience in global operations leadership within satellite or telecommunications industries.
  • Proven track record managing geographically dispersed teams and complex technical infrastructures.
  • Expertise in SLA/KPI frameworks, operational governance, and vendor management.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget oversight.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 30%.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Deep technical understanding of LEO satellite ground systems and Ka/Ku-band technologies.
  • PMP or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with fiber optic and RF infrastructure standards.
  • Strong team-building and oversight skills.
