Job Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Systems Modelling Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the modelling and simulation of our Current and Next Generation communication systems. In this position, you’ll sit within the End-to-End Systems Engineering organization and work closely with the systems architecture team, software engineering, operations, and the commercial side of the business. You’ll contribute directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact within an organization that values growth, teamwork, and professional development.

Who You Are:

You’re a whiz in all things systems engineering and systems modelling, who can identify connections and dependencies in highly complex systems. You combine your strong technical background with programming to develop, validate, and maintain system models of varying scope and fidelity to meet the needs of the engineering organisation and the wider business. You’re a capable self-starter and love to learn. You’re sparked by a fast pace, with new challenges, and the opportunity to learn/invent new techniques. You’re a self-motived creative thinker who works collaboratively and is ready to produce results. You can produce rigorous, model-based analyses and can explain the results to both technical and non-technical audiences. You possess superb communications skills with the ability to work across organisational boundaries.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the System Modelling and Tooling team to continue the development of our in-house system performance models and simulators.
  • Architect and develop tooling, built upon our in-house system models and simulators, which support engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
  • Adapt and update existing modelling tools to ensure they stay converged to the current operational systems ConOps and performance.
  • Develop and maintain feedback loops to flow real-world data back into our models/simulators, calibrating them against real-world performance.

What You’ll Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Aerospace engineering, Computer Science, Physics or Maths. Masters degree preferred.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and validating software models of complex systems.
  • A strong technical understanding of JULIA, Python, SQL, and experience with other coding languages (MATLAB, C++).
  • Experience working on optimisation problems, ideally in the context of satellite resource management, using both open source and proprietary solvers.
  • Experience using real-world telemetry to calibrate models/simulators.
  • A technical understanding of RF communications engineering.
  • Experience working with LEO/MEO/GEO satellite communication systems and their CONOPS.
  • Experience developing software collaboratively as part of a team and the associated software development techniques and best practices.
  • A collaborative nature and strong ability to communicate across multiple stakeholder levels and work across organisational boundaries.
  • Knowledge of current 3GPP standards.

Where You’ll Work:

Our team is currently based out of three different locations, any of these are potential options:

  • London, UK.
  • Paris, France.
  • Turin, Italy.

Some travel required.
