The Software Development Intern will be a junior, but full member of the software development team. The intern will be expected to develop professional quality software using cutting edge software technologies and industry best practices (version control, build management, testing, etc.) They will be assigned software coding tasks similar to those assigned to other developers, and will be expected to contribute to software applications that will be deployed into production, operating and supporting Eutelsat’s low earth orbiting fleet of 600+ satellites. The intern will receive continuous mentorship and technical support from other members of the software team. By the end of the internship, the intern will be ready to succeed in any professional software development organization.

 

Responsibilities
1.    Apply software development theories taught in school 

2.    Learn professional software practices that are critical skills for a modern software engineer developing code
3.    Deliver usable and useful functionality into production to help operate Eutesat’s satellite constellation
4.    Develop enthusiasm, or at least appreciation for working a complex, mission-critical space mission.
         
Structure of Internship: 
1.    Week 1 - Setup development environment and learn basic tool sets
2.    Attend Daily standup meeting with all software developers to review daily status, plans, and roadblocks
3.    Demo results to development team and stakeholders every two weeks during sprint review meetings
      
Skills/Experience Level Needed: 
1.    Intermediate object oriented programming skills are a must
2.    Coursework in data structures

 

Educational Requirements: 
1.    Relevant engineering major (software, aerospace, electrical, etc.)  

2.    1 year software engineering coursework

 

 

Where You Will Be:

You will be based in our London office in White City.
