Who You Are: 

As a Service Fields Support Engineer at OneWeb, you will play a key role in our business growth. You will provide Tier 3 User Terminal  Field Service Support to Distribution Partners and for the Ref UTs deployed for Operations. You will be the SME on installation/operation of all User Terminals that are rolled out as part of the product portfolio.  You will work with other Operations Engineering and Development teams to provide tier 3 operational support for the early stages of new user terminals deployments, service support escalations, and new system features deployments.

What You’ll Do:

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 3 Field Service Support on User Terminals for Distribution partners and for Ref UTs deployed globally for internal system monitoring.
  • Support new firmware and software release testing for a variety of UTs
  • Be the SME on Installation/configuration of all User Terminal that are rolled out as part of the product portfolio
  • Provide support for installation and configuration of user terminals
  • On-site engagement and presentation regarding technical issues with users and Distribution Partners
  • Create customer facing User Terminal Installation Documentation
  • Document troubleshooting procedures and creating training material for customer operations support
  • Travel up to 50% of the time

 

What it Takes: 

Skills

  • Systematic and methodical approach to debugging and problem solving
  • Experience with SatCom and RF technologies
  • Experience in deploying/installing VSAT terminals
  • Experience with IP networks (routing and switching)
  • Experience with Linux Operating system
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Understanding of regulatory and test standards related to land maritime and aviation industry
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical skills required in Satcom
  • Experience with RF test equipment
  • A degree in Computer Engineering/Network Engineering/Telecommunications  or equivalent experience (5 – 8 years experience)
