Who You Are: 

You are an experienced product engineer with a background in product management, eager to leverage your expertise in a cutting-edge LEO environment. You thrive in a fast-paced setting with new challenges and relish the opportunity to innovate. With a deep understanding of end-user needs in telecommunications equipment, you possess comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end telecommunications and satellite communications systems, particularly in relation to user experience. You have experience developing product documentation and training materials. As a collaborative subject matter expert, you are self-motivated, creative, and adaptable, even in disruptive situations. Your strong relationship-building skills enable you to work effectively with cross-functional teams such as Systems Engineering, Advanced Technologies, Core Network, Security, and Digital Platform teams to ensure UT solutions meet technical and product requirements. You support UT Product Development Managers throughout the design, development, certification, and acceptance stages by assisting in defining product user experience, documentation, and training requirements. Your excellent communication skills enable you to work seamlessly across organizational boundaries.    

What You’ll Do:

The candidate will work on the following:

  • Definition of User Terminal user experience product requirements. 
  • Support User Terminal development partners in the creation of printed and virtual User Terminal documentation assets, including user guides, quick start guides, installation and troubleshooting guides, marketing materials, and other product documentation. 
  • For developments involving smartphone applications, assist User Terminal development partners in defining smartphone application requirements and master development guidelines. 
  • Assist internal teams and Eutelsat Group partners in defining and testing device and digital platform UI/UX. 
  • Participate in consolidating necessary ICDs (Interface Control Documents) and APIs to support the development of user interface assets. 
  • Support life-cycle enhancements to the core network and system digital platform, particularly concerning user terminal APIs, from the perspective of network, user terminal, and user security. 
  • Assist User Terminal development partners in creating training syllabi for various audiences, such as installers, end users, field engineers, and sales personnel. 
  • Design and conduct live training sessions with in-person and remote audiences using Eutelsat OneWeb terminals. 
  • Provide support to Sales Engineering and Sales teams during customer demos and industry events where products may be showcased. 
  • Receive market requirements from product management during the feasibility stages of development initiatives for the purposes of defining UI/UX requirements and engage, liaise and update Product Management during the development and handover stages

What It Takes: 

  • The ideal candidate will be a professional with +12 years experience in design and management of user experience assets of consumer electronic devices, preferably in SATCOM related fields
  • Experience in product management functions related to the design and implementation of SATCOM User Terminals
  • Experience in designing end user personas and user journeys to define UI/UX requirement specifications for the various possible audiences of satcoms user terminals
  • Experience in creation of user documentation, training syllabi and marketing materials
  • Experience and deep knowledge of Android and iOS app development frameworks and SDKs
  • Familiarity and preferably demonstrable experience with application of guidelines and industry best practice in the design and developing of apps
  • Understanding of best practice UI/UX design principles
  • Deep understanding and experience in integration with web services and APIs
  • Demonstrable experience through building and deploying apps, either independently or as part of development teams will be valuable
  • Superb communication skills in English and ability to present and showcase Proof of Concept and finished products to diverse audiences
  • Master’s Degree in Electronic Engineering or related subject preferred.

Where You’ll Be:

Preferably UK with ability to have regular presence at London office or Virginia with ability to have regular or sporadic presence at Mc Lean’s office. Other Eutelsat Gorup office locations can also be considered
