Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Sales Manager East Africa to join our team and play a critical role in Pursuing New Business / partnerships / opportunities / B2G projects for growing our GEO & LEO presence in East Africa. In this position, you’ll work closely with Logistics, Finance, PreSales, Legal, Marketing, Project Management and Business Operations, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Who You Are:
Commercially experienced – You understand the dynamics of the East African telecom and B2B market. You know how to position satellite solutions (GEO and LEO) to meet real business needs and Cellular Backhauling for Telcos own needs.
You have strong relationships with decision-makers in Telcos, ISPs and government agencies. You know how to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Execution-focused – You move fast, onboard partners quickly, and drive them to market with precision. You’re hands-on and results-driven
Analytical and data-driven – You use reporting tools not just to track performance, but to guide decisions and forecast growth
Independent but collaborative – You can operate autonomously across multiple countries, but you also know how to align with HQ and regional teams
What You’ll Do:
The Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for managing our retail direct resellers in Tanzania and maintaining strong working relationships with all accounts in East Africa. Key objectives for this role though will be to grow our GEO business (Ku, C, Ka and Konnect WiFi) in East Africa and create all the necessary partnerships for our forthcoming LEO (OneWeb) services mainly with the big Telcos, primary ISP’s, Integrators specialized in B2B segment and Governmental Agencies.
The Senior Sales Manager need to identify key customers (Mainly Telcos and ISP’s) and quickly onboard them and prepare them so they can quickly go to market.
- Sales & business development
- Realization of revenue targets
- Selection, acquisition and retention of accounts
- Conduct negotiations and close deals
- Account Management
- Developing and growing Account Goals and Objectives
- Actively support main accounts in growing their pipeline
- Closely monitor all activities and inventory to ensure fluid business continuity
- Reporting
- Strong CRM Management
- Timely reporting using the correct formats to keep the Inmarsat organization informed
- Contributing to regional plans as part of the planning cycle.
- Competition
- Provide market intelligence feedback to the HQ
- Propose action plan / products / offerings in order to stay competitive in a highly competitive environment
- Work with the Governmental Authorities and other Stakeholders in order to increase awareness of Konnect and OneWeb at Government level
What You’ll Need:
- Experienced telecom & satellite professional
- Strong experience in East African markets
- Proven success in sales leadership and account management
- Familiarity with satellite technologies (GEO, LEO, Ka, Ku, C-band)
- Experience working with government stakeholders is a plus
- Team spirit and ready for new challenges
- Sharp critical and analytical mind
- Independent and self motivated
- Excellent analytical skills
