Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled User Terminal System Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in the UT Engineering Team. In this position, you’ll work closely with external vendors on new UT development, evaluating the performance to ensure that the implementation is compliant with the System/UT requirements. The candidate also provides technical support to the internal teams in troubleshooting UT related issues, and guiding UT vendors in resolving the issues.
For future UT roadmap, the candidate as part of the UT Engineering team will work closely with the E2E System Engineering in shaping the next generation of the UT. Who You Are:
An enthusiastic engineer with good understanding and experience in systems engineering and user terminal architecture and design to work on our future UT roadmap. Candidate is also keen on hands-on troubleshooting with a problem-solving mindset, ideally with software development experience and networking/routing background.
What You’ll Do:
The candidate will be part of the Eutelsat User Terminal (UT) team within the Eutelsat End-to-End (E2E) Engineering group.
- Provide Technical Subject Matter Expertise (SME) support to the internal teams to solve any UT related issues and improve existing UT implementations and designs
- Support new UT development programs and guide/advice the UT vendors with the best engineering practice in terms of UT design and implementation
- Where applicable, support the team in the next generation UT architectural design, new ICD and requirement definitions
- Support the UT software release activities: review the test results provided by the UT vendors and validate the bug fixes
- Support the UT Type Approval process and ensure that all the product requirements are met
What You’ll Need:
- Good understanding of the end-to-end wireless communication systems, especially satellite communications
- Good understanding of User Terminal architecture design & development
- Deep understanding/working experience in: Antenna & RF subsystem, Modem and Electronics
- Experience in system and network troubleshooting and fault analysis
- Experience in liaising with supply chain and 3rd party vendors for the implementation of the User Terminal designs
- Creating verification/validation/test plans and leading the IVV campaigns
- Understanding of 3GPP, 5G, NTN architectures and definitions
- Desirable but not mandatory areas of expertise: Beamforming network (analog, digital, hybrid), 3GPP or Satcom Air Interface & Waveforms
- Desirable to have embedded software development experience
- Scripting and data analysis capability required
- Passionate about complex problem solving with a proven track record of such accomplishments (the last for the senior role)
- Firmly grounded in electronic measurement and instrumentation techniques, including RF measurement
- Electrical/Electronic educational training and background strongly preferred
