Who You are :
As a Satellite Payload Units Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in the development and procurement of satellite payload units — the core of Eutelsat’s next-generation communications systems. From supplier selection to in-orbit performance, you’ll own the full lifecycle of these critical components, ensuring they meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and innovation.
Working closely with the payload manager and the rest of the space engineering, procurement, and operations teams, you’ll lead technical evaluations, manage supplier relationships, resolve anomalies, and help guide sourcing strategies. Your work will directly shape the performance of our satellite payloads and enhance connectivity around the globe.

What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with the payload manager to support the procurement of space-grade communication equipment.
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, cost, and schedule objectives.
- Negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance data, and support Make/Buy decisions with informed risk and opportunity analyses.
- Manage the full lifecycle of repeater units — from supplier selection and specification development to design, integration, testing, and delivery — ensuring alignment with mission requirements.
- Analyze test data, investigate anomalies, and lead resolution efforts to ensure optimal functionality and reliability.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and external partners to ensure supply chain efficiency and reliability.
- Collaborate with satellite operations engineers to monitor in-orbit performance and resolve on-orbit anomalies for seamless mission continuity.
- Stay current on industry trends, simulation tools, and emerging repeater technologies to foster innovation and continuous system improvement.
- Maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships while identifying opportunities to optimize unit performance, reduce cost, and enhance mission capabilities.
- Establish best practices for procurement, testing, and operations, ensuring compliance with space industry standards.
What it Takes:
- Hold a university honors degree in Engineering (Telecommunications, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, or a related field), with a Master’s or PhD in a relevant specialization being highly preferred.
- Demonstrate proven experience in the procurement and management of payload/satellite equipment, encompassing specification, design, development, and testing.
- Knowledge of the space industry, aerospace manufacturing.
- A passion for innovation and space technology.
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Exhibit the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Be willing and able to travel frequently for technical meetings and reviews.
- Maintain an excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
