Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Spacecraft Controller to join our team and play a critical role working as part of a 24/7 shift team in our Satellite Control Centre (SCC), where you will be responsible for the command and control of our large fleet of geostationarysatellites executing provided operations procedures on the satellites and ground facilities, according to pre-defined planning, and in case of non-nominal events or unexpected behavior of a satellite or the ground facilities taking necessary actions and escalation to ensure high availability and continuity of service in compliance with Service Operations security policy. In this position, you’ll work closely with the SCC operations team, and satellite control and ground system engineers, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Who You Are:
You are passionate about satellite control operations. You want to participate in the operational activities of the satellite control centre joining our team to ensure that the operations maximise efficiency whilst guaranteeing satellite safety and a high-quality customer service.
What You’ll Do:
Reporting to the Satellite Control Centre Operations Manager, working as member of the Eutelsat satellite control team within the operations department, the successful candidate will help to ensure the efficient, effective and safe operation of Eutelsat’s fleet of geostationary telecommunication satellites in compliance with Service Operations security.
• Monitor and control the Eutelsat fleet of satellites as part of a 24/7 shift team
• Execute all routine and scheduled satellite operations using the authorised flight operations procedures
• Monitor and control the Eutelsat TT&C network and systems to ensure robust command and telemetry link availability
• Perform satellite payload reconfiguration activities in accordance with customer requirements
• Perform first line response and corrective measures to satellite and ground facility contingencies
• Perform efficient and appropriate escalation of problems to the supporting engineering teams
• Maintain the operational activity log
• Assist in the verification and validation of new or upgraded operational tools and systems
• Take part in regular training exercises to ensure full operational readiness and awareness
• Participate in shift planning activities
• Participate in the definition of improvements to the satellite control centre tools, procedures and processes
• Liaise with the controllers of the Eutelsat Communications System Control Centre (CSC) and NOC (Network Operations Centre) in order to implement satellite payload reconfigurations
What You’ll Need:
• Higher technical qualification
• Proven ability to work unsupervised for extended periods
• Ability to work methodically and accurately in a multitasking environment
• Desire to work as part of an international team
• Confident personality with good communication skills
• Excellent knowledge of one of the official languages of Eutelsat (English or French) and good knowledge of the other
• Experience of in-orbit satellite control is an additional asset
• Experience in the use of SCOS-2000 derived satellite control systems is an additional
asset
Where You’ll Work:
Location is in Issy les Moulineaux. 24/7 shift rota. This position is not entitled to teleworking
