Who You Are:
The Senior Constellation Engineer will drive the definition, qualification and execution of end-to-end operations for IRIS² LEO/MEO satellite constellation. The Constellation Engineer will translate high-level CONOPS into technical requirements, co-lead LEOP/EOR/IOT campaigns, specify and qualify ground-segment tools, and ensure all operational KPIs are achieved.
He will report to the Head of Satellite Fleet Engineering within the Space Engineering Directorate.
What You’ll Do:
- CONOPS & Requirements Definition
- Specify detailed Infrastructure Operations CONOPS for LEO/MEO layers in coordination with Infrastructure and Service Operations lead and in collaboration with Infrastructure, M&ILS and Service Engineering teams.
- Translate CONOPS and service goals into user requirements for ground SW (S3C), planning/scheduling, monitoring, ticketing and simulator tools.
- Documentation & Deliverables
- Co-author key service documents: Operations Maintenance Plan, Operations Engineering Plan, Service Concept, Service Requirement Document.
- Contribute to Service Continuity and Hand-back Plans, grounding all in preparatory analyses and roles & staffing ramp-up reviews.
- Tool Qualification & Validation Prep
- Define user requirements and acceptance criteria for infrastructure deliveries (IVV, E2E).
- Interface with Ground, Flight Dynamics and MCC teams to prepare S3C specification and validate satellite/constellation simulators.
- Procedures
- Draft and validate LEOP, EOR and IOT procedures with satellite manufacturers; shadow initial campaigns to refine approaches.
- Anomaly & Contingency Management
- Oversee health-monitoring processes; coordinate investigations, escalations and corrective-action plans.
- Validate and deploy contingency procedures in collaboration with manufacturers.
- Lead post-incident reviews and drive lessons-learned initiatives
- Procedure & Tool Oversight
- Review and approve updates to flight-ops procedures and tool configurations (S3C, simulators).
- Liaise with Ground, Software and Maintenance teams to implement patches and improvements.
What It Takes:
- ≥ 10 years in satellite/constellation operations or ground-segment engineering, with proven LEOP/EOR/IOT and CONOPS development track record.
- Deep knowledge of command-and-control software (e.g. SCC), flight dynamics, satellite/constellation simulators and tool-qualification methods.
- Proven coordinating skill in cross-functional teams and multi-stakeholder environments.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
