Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Director Fleet Management and Development to join our team and play a critical role in Eutelsat fleet strategy management and development ensuring the in-orbit resource optimization for the existing and future Eutelsat satellite fleet. In this position, you’ll work closely with strategy, engineering department, Business Units, Finance and operations, contributing directly to our ongoing projects and initiatives. Who You Are:
You are a strategic, analytical, and business-oriented candidate with a deep understanding of space segment management and satellite fleet operations. A deep understanding of evolving competitive landscape and technologies associated with creativity to adapt our Fleet and deployment plan to business needs.
The ideal candidate has strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and act as a pivotal interface between Engineering , Business Units, and executive stakeholders, ensuring satellite resources align with long-term business goals.
You combine technical expertise with customer focus and strategic vision, enabling decision-making for both GEO and LEO constellations.
What You’ll Do:
- Responsible of the Eutelsat fleet strategy with the definition of Eutelsat fleet deployment plan and GEO restoration plan
- Optimize the use of current in-orbit resources and mission definition of future GEO and LEO satellites
- Monetization of in orbit resources and support of strategic projects
- Partnership with other satellites operators and Competition analysis
- Responsible of defining the service transfers between satellites under the deployment plan
- Provide reference information on Eutelsat fleet performance and capabilities (ie for finance, commercial and marketing team)
- Operational (under discussion to transfer those activities to operational department : space segment data base, in orbit reconfiguration process, etc.
What You’ll Need:
- Master’s degree in telecommunications or satellite Engineer – 10 years experience
- English is mandatory and French is appreciated
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement mid and long-term fleet deployment and GEO restoration strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Skilled in analyzing various technical and business demand data and translating them into actionable fleet strategies.
- Satellite Mission Design: Experience in optimizing the use of current satellite resources and defining missions for future GEO/LEO satellites.
- Technical Understanding of Space Segment: In-depth knowledge of Eutelsat satellite fleet capabilities, performance, and in-orbit configuration.
- Business Acumen: Proven ability to support monetization initiatives, strategic partnerships, and resource planning from a commercial perspective.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with finance, commercial, marketing, and operational teams.
- Industry Awareness: Strong grasp of market dynamics, competition, and partnership opportunities within the satellite communications sector.
- Communication Skills: Capable of providing clear reference information and presenting complex topics to varied audiences, including executives.
- Problem Solving & Adaptability: Comfortable managing complex projects and adjusting plans in response to technical or business constraints.
