Broadband Accounting Manager F/M

The Group is currently looking for a Broadband Accounting Manager. This is a newly created position to accompany the development of the Broadband business within Eutelsat Group.

The position is an exciting and challenging opportunity for candidates who like working in international environment, multi-tasks and change management mode. Main part of the perimeter has been recently integrated in Eutelsat Group or created.  

KEY ACTIVITIES

  • Supervise the timely production of accounting closing in local GAAP and IFRS for the Broadband perimeter (13 BBO entities (last Group acquisition) + 9 entities related to African Broadband +  gateways entities).
  • Ensure IFRS packs of all the entities are reported as per Group instructions and deadlines.
  • Improve and harmonize accounting practices and policies: main part of the entities in scope have been either recently integrated in the Group or recently created and still need to be fully integrated and aligned with the Group standards and practices.
  • In coordination with Broadband Controlling Manager, define and build finance process to support the development of the Broadband activity.
  • Ensure management and coordination role:
    • Directly manage local accounting teams in the UK and Italy and a senior accountant on the African perimeter.
    • Coordinate & control the work of external accounting firms for the entities where accounting is externalized.
    • Structure and optimize accounting team organization.
    • Support the skill development of the internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance of local entities with finance regulations in coordination with local external advisors.
  • Ensure proper implementation of internal control rules for the perimeter in coordination with Broadband Internal Control Officer.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment of new contracts
  • Manage interfaces with external auditors, external accountants, tax advisors, lawyers, etc.
  • Daily interfaces with Consolidation team, Group tax department, Controlling team, Treasury department, Legal department, and French accounting team.

 

The position includes management of an internal teams of circa 10 collaborators (direct & indirect), 1 direct report dedicated to African scope and/or local external firms assistance.

The position is attached to the Group Consolidation and Accounting Direction.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

  • About 10 years of experience in accounting in an international environment
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs.
  • Leadership, good management skills, strong ability to organize teams and processes (ability to work with and manage multi-cultural teams remotely) and team spirit
  • Can do attitude -- positive and collaboration mindset responsibilities may fall out of one’s exact job description
  • Explorer - the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data require
  • IT systems oriented. Knowledge of Navision and/or SAP and/or HFM are a plus.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills working with multiple peer groups and levels of management
  • Fluent in English, French is a plus
