What You’ll Do
As a Senior Antenna Field Engineer, you will:
- Support training, operations, troubleshooting, and diagnosis of field-related issues in earth station and satellite network systems.
- Apply a system-level understanding of satellite RF communications, including Ku-Band and Ka-Band.
- Work with equipment such as LEO tracking antennas, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), transmitters, antenna controls, motors, resolvers, LNAs, encoders, 3-phase power, signal routing, and fiber optics.
- Utilize basic knowledge of network communications and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Primary Responsibilities
- Test, troubleshoot, commission, and provide ongoing support for Satellite Network Portals (SNP) during build-out and operation.
- Support installation, commissioning, and integration with OneWeb partners.
- Interpret technical documentation, including procedures, data sheets, surveys, and bulletins.
- Perform rack integration, cable fabrication, terminations, and interpret wiring diagrams.
- Optimize earth station antennas by conducting performance tests such as antenna patterns, G/T measurements, and functional assessments.
- Monitor and report on contractor work quality.
- Configure and test IP-based network equipment and peripherals.
- Develop product documentation to support training, maintenance, and operations using Microsoft Office tools.
What It Takes
- Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field, OR
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in test engineering or a technician role focused on antennas (experience with LEO tracking antennas is a plus).
- Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong understanding of RF communications and satellite systems.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics.
- Familiarity with network equipment configuration and testing.
- Personal Qualities:
- Highly motivated self-starter with excellent collaboration skills.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
- Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
